Spring League Information

2013 SPRING LEAGUE INFORMATION

AGE GROUPS:

  • Recreational division (Fall 2012 Age Groups):
    • U7 to U14 Boys and Girls
    • High School Coed: Freshman/Sophomore Division, Junior/Senior Division, and Open Division
  • Players that did not play soccer with PYSA will need to register directly with their club prior to playing in any games.

GAME INFORMATION:

  • Seven outdoor games on the following game dates (no reschedules):
    • Games can and will be played on Saturday and/or Sunday on the following play dates:
      • April 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28 May 4, 5, 11, 12
      • We will try to end games the weekend of May 4-5th
  • Center Referees for all U9-14 Games, Parent referees for U7 and U8 games
  • 3 referees for the HS Coed (when available)
  • Team Fees:
    • U7 (1st grade) to U8 (2nd grade) - $125 per team
    • U9 (3rd grade) to U10 (4th grade) - $275 per team
    • U11 (5th Grade) to U12 (6th grade) - $300 per team
    • U13 (7th Grade) to U14 (8th grade) - $325 per team
    • U16 and HS Coed - U15-18 (9th to 12th Grade) - $350 per team
  • Player Fees:
    • $17 per player that did not play in the fall

Game set-up:

  • U7 - 3 v 3 (split into 2 teams)
  • U8 - 4 v 4 (split into 2 teams)
  • U9/10 - 6 v 6 (1 team) with goalkeepers
  • U11/12 - 8 v 8
  • U13/14 - 11 v 11
  • U16- 11v11
  • High School - 11 v 11

HIGH SCHOOL COED REC PROGRAM:

  • High School Co-Ed Club team formation and rules of competition apply

FORMING TEAMS:

  • Coaches must confirm with their club registrar before regsitering their team
  • Some clubs will be registering and forming teams through their club's website, please check with your club registrar on how your club is registering for spring (see list below).
  • Players that did not play in the fall will need to register with their club.

NON - PYSA Teams:

  • Non-PYSA teams from U7 to U12 will be put on a waitlist and put into the league based on a first come first served basis. Teams should register, instructions below, but select to pay by check, you will be billed if we have room for your team.
  • Non-PYSA teams from U13 to High School can register with the instructions below.
    • PYSA has limited game fields in the spring so must give priority to our member clubs.

GAME FIELDS:

  • All spring PYSA games will be held on PYSA fields

NO PRACTICES:

  • Teams are not allowed to practice on public grass fields (City or School District owned) within Portland during the spring season. The primary season for youth soccer is Fall.

GAME CHANGES:

  • Expect Changes - the weather will make them inevitable, Portland Parks reserves the right to close or temporarily close fields due to extreme weather or damage at any time.
  • Weekly game/field changes will be posted by 5:00pm each Friday on the PYSA web-site.
  • While PYSA will communicate game changes, it is still the responsibility of the coach to check for changes and to communicate this information to their teams.

ROSTERS:

  • Coaches must have an Official PYSA Roster at all spring games. This roster needs to be shown to the referee. All players must be registered and listed on the roster to play. Write-ins allowed but players must be a registered PYSA member.

DEADLINE:

  • All teams must be registered by March 8th, 2013

TEAM REGISTRATION:

  • PYSA Teams:
    • Online Team Registration - open February 18th
  • 2 OPTIONS:
    1. Your club is collecting player registration, forming teams, and registering them with PYSA
      • Jackson, HS Coed, Mt Tabor, Hollywood, Holy Redeemer, Foothills, Southeast, Hillside, Bridlemile, Forest Heights, Skyline, North Portland
    2. Your club is NOT collecting player registration so the coach is responsible for registering the team with PYSA
      • See instructions below
      • Irvington, Rose City, Laurelhurst, Northeast United, Vista
    • If a coach is registering the team please let your registrar know so that they can get you your team ID number.
    • All teams fees are due by March 20th, 2013
      • Payment by credit card or check
Spring Registration Instructions for PYSA Club Coaches

  1. Go to www.portlandyouthsoccer.com and click on Register Now. If you do not have a member account you will need to create one. If you have a member account with your club if they use Bonzi you can use that member account to access the PYSA Spring League Registration.
  2. The next screen is a waiver and instructions, read carefully and hit accept at the bottom.
  3. The next screen you will enter your team number, team age, and gender. You can find your team number on your fall roster (It is the 9 digit number listed at the top of your roster starting with 140) or contact your club's registrar for the team number. Once you have found your team, hit Import.
  4. The next screen is the registration, please make sure to fill it out thoroughly. You will need your team info, coach info, schedule requests, etc.. Hit next once you have completed all of the questions.
  5. The next screen is your roster. Make sure that all of your players are listed here. If your club has not assigned all of your spring players to your roster before the registration they will not show up here. You do not need this roster to include all of your players, just as long as the roster you present at your games has all of your players on it. If it lists all of your players then you know they are registered with the club and they have insurance through PYSA.
  6. The last screen is the balance due screen, you can pay by credit card or mail a check, payments due by March 20th. Hit finish and it will take you to a reciept for your your team's fees. Mail a check payable to PYSA and mail to 4840 SW Western Avenue Suite 700 Beaverton, OR 97005.

Spring Registration Instructions for NON-PYSA Teams

  1. Go to www.portlandyouthsoccer.com and click on Register Now. If you do not have a member account you will need to create one.
  2. The next screen is a waiver and instructions, read carefully and hit accept at the bottom.
  3. The next screen you will need to Manually create a team. Enter a random 9 digit number starting with 9 then click Click Here.
  4. The next screen is the registration form, fill it out thoroughly. Click Next.
  5. The next screen is the roster. Fill in the First and Last Name, Date of Birth, Email, and Phone Number for all of your coaches for the team. Then enter the First Name, Last Name, and Date of Birth for all of your players, YOUR ENTIRE ROSTER MUST BE ENTERED HERE. Please review the PYSA rules for roster limits. Type in your name at the bottom to confirm that your roster is correct.
  6. The last screen is the balance due screen, you can pay by credit card or mail a check, payments due by March 20th. Hit finish and it will take you to a reciept for your your team's fees. Mail a check payable to PYSA and mail to 4840 SW Western Avenue Suite 700 Beaverton, OR 97005.
